Systems Engineer - Functional Analyst / System Architect
Position Details
- Develop system architecture using Integrated Definition for Function Modeling (IDEF0) and other methodologies
- Prepare functional flow block diagrams, behavior diagrams, and system state transition diagrams
- Analyze system timing / latencies given alternative architectures
- Prepare trade-off analyses of alternative functional and physical architectures and recommend most cost-effective option
- Establish traceability between system requirements specifications and selected architecture
- Define system Technical Performance Measures (TPMs) and develop a technical performance measurement plan
- Allocate TPMs and other performance requirements to system functions
- Work with system vendors to evaluate and track system design and development progress using TPMs
- Analyze architecture and performance impacts for proposed requirements changes and new requirements
- Evaluate vendor-developed system designs
- Participate in safety hazard analyses, providing inputs to Failure Mode and Effects (FMEA) analyses
- Participate in program risk management board to identify and mitigate system architecture and technical performance risks

Requirements
- B.S. in Systems Engineering or related field
- 3+ years experience in developing system architectures and trade-off analyses
- Demonstrated understanding of IDEF0 methodology
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Telelogic (formerly Popkin) System Architect or equivalent Computer Aided Systems Engineering tools
- Experience in defining and measuring TPMs
